Testimonials

We had the pleasure of meeting Elissa at the beginning of our son’s education journey when he commenced an Early Intervention Program 12 years ago. As our son’s teacher at that time, we were immediately impressed by Elissa’s enthusiasm and compassion toward the children and remain ever grateful for the support that she provided to us during those early times. After several years break in the middle schooling years, our paths would cross again when we were at a loss as to what to do next in relation to our son’s education. Elissa was instrumental in our decision to join his current high school program where our son has since thrived in a positive inclusive environment. Elissa has a deep understanding of children with autism and maintains a belief in their individual capabilities and their right to equality. So now, as we look at the transition from school life, we feel very fortunate that Elissa has chosen to move into her field of consultancy, and we are hopeful that we can continue our journey together to assist our son in finding purpose and happiness in his contribution to the broader community.

Elissa is caring and nice.

Kaden, 12 years old

Elissa has worked with my son for the last 4 years. During this time she has build up a close relationship with him. She is kind and understanding and has been instrumental in my son’s continued growth. My son feels comfortable seeking help from Elissa. When he started working with her, he was lacking confidence and was anxious. He is now becoming a confident young man which can be attributed to the strategies she has helped him put in place. Elissa has a genuine understanding of ASD and is able to think outside the box. She has an amazing ability to work with not only the young person, but also with family as a whole. Many times I have asked Elissa for advice and she has been able to come up with strategies, seeing things from my son’s perspective. Elissa has a loving, caring and professional attitude and puts her heart and soul into every young person and family. Anyone would be lucky to have Elissa work with them. I cannot speak more highly of her.

Elissa was my son’s savoiur at his school. She supported him in some of his most challenging and difficult times. I knew that Elissa cared about him as much as I did and she was always there for him. My son does not take to many people, but he loves and respects Elissa and trusts her. He felt safest with Elissa because he knew she had his back. School would not have been as successful without her.

As a parent of a newly diagnosed child at 2 years old, we were very lost. Who would help us to educate our son with the same love and care as we would? We felt instantly comfortable with Elissa and confident that her and her team could provide our son with the care and education that he needed to prepare him for school and the wider community. Not only did Elissa and her team love and look after our son day to day, they also helped to educate our family and allied health team to provide best practice in early intervention to help our son to live a happy and functional life. With Elissa and her teams help, ten years on, we feel confident that we can help our son to become a functional and most importantly, happy adult. Thank you Elissa for changing our lives and those of many friends we still have to this day. You are an amazing person and a gift to the community.

Elissa attacks her roles in the autism spectrum world with endless energy, humour, respect, kindness, and a gentle determined confidence which is inspiring to witness. She is extremely resourceful and can quickly formulate strategies to manage tricky behaviours and situations. I have dealt with many educators and ‘autism experts’ and Elissa is one of the very few that absolutely ‘gets it’. I trust and respect her immensely!

The Teen Social Club is just beautiful. Thankyou for letting us be a part of this amazing experience! The kids are so sweet and the support you offer is incredible. I feel comfortable knowing you are all taking care of my daughter as she participates in your program.
